I have always been impressed by Japanese Zen calligraphy and drawing.
I found the dynamics and the simplicity of it overwhelming. So, when I became more familiar with Zen philosophy and meditation I was given the chance to discover through my own experience the close links of Zen with the source of minimalism.

In this particular case in the series of Survivors the snow had created the right scenery covering everything with a white veil. The tips of the weed and grass that opted out were the only evidence of before recorded in the vast nothing. The brushstrokes of temporary. Thus the Zen calligraphy appeared before me and … I was called to immortalize it.
I wondered in fields of white following the brushstrokes one by one.
Then a strong wind blew and there was nothing left.
Survivors had been born.
